7-Day Migration Safari in Tanzania

On this 7-Day Migration Safari Tanzania, you will visit Serengeti National Park, renowned for hosting the largest movement of animals, often referred to as the “Great Migration.” Over 1.7 million wildebeest, 500,000 zebra, and 200,000 antelope travel from the Ndutu region in the southern Serengeti to witness the dramatic crossings of the Mara River. Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport

Distance: 45 km / 50 Minutes
The Joagro Safaris Tanzania team will welcome you at the airport and drive you to a hotel in the heart of Arusha City, preparing you for your upcoming adventure. You’ll receive a safari briefing covering the itinerary, accommodations, and the pickup time for the following day.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Non-game viewing time: 3 – 4 hours
After breakfast, depart at 7:30 AM for a final stop at Arusha Shoppers for any last-minute purchases before heading to Tarangire National Park for a game drive and picnic lunch. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population and iconic baobab trees, supporting an annual migratory cycle that includes 3,000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest, and 30,000 zebras. Day 3: Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti

The area hosts herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and giant African elephants, along with a dense population of predators, including lions and leopards. Visit Lake Magadi, home to flamingos and hippos, before heading to the Kogatende area in the northern part of the park, rich in wildlife during July and August. Arrive in time for dinner and overnight.

This area features a steep-sided ravine with a rich collection of fossil remains.
