This project places you in one of the most iconic cities in East Africa-Arusha, the safari hub, home of Tanzanite, home to the Bushmen and Maasai.
Volunteers will be working together with an NGO that was set up and working on the environmental issues including education, conservations and agriculture. The core belief of this organization is tailored on the idea of cultural exchange between you as a volunteer and the local community and the long-term benefits this can bring for both sides. These projects are community-run by local people who know the city intimately and understand its needs. This program provides an excellent opportunity for you to gain valuable knowledge and experience while at the same time helping to generate income and employment opportunities in the community. And of course, the benefits of living in one of the most exciting cities in East Africa.
Your daily schedule will be worked out together with the Project coordinator upon arrival in Arusha Tanzania and you may work part- or full time, at least 10 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
Arusha is a city in East Africa’s Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It’s a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa’s highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.
Upon arrival you will be met at the airport by a project representative and taken to your hostel.
